The stories
'Hudson and Me' is a fun and interactive series, about the friendship and love between a little girl and her sausage dog Hudson. They are the best of friends and do everything together. Based on the real-life sausage dog Hudson, all of the books in the ‘Hudson and Me’ series encourage children to join in, move, and copy actions.
Observing Hudson gave me the inspiration for my books. Five stories were created from the things I noticed about him, things he did, and our time together. Each story has a different theme and learning objective, and you can help your child to learn whilst having fun together.
Who are they for?
Designed to suit two age groups:
Read-along stories for 1-3 year olds. Story-time fun with parents and teachers.
Early-reader stories for 4-6 year olds. Ideal first book for those learning to read independently.
How to read these books
Each book in the series has a 'learning aim' or 'objective'. I have used themes that children can relate to, which puts children at ease, adds to their enjoyment, and encourages interaction. The books also aim to teach new vocabulary, and follow topics in parallel with Early Learning Goals.
Here is a list of books in the series, and a guideline for what can be learned in each:
Hudson and Me: to identify body parts through observing similarities bewteen the little girl and Hudson.
Hudson and Me Playing: to copy actions and learn different adjectives.
Hudson and Me Snacktime: to learn the days of the week and relate to healthy eating.
Hudson and Me Exploring: to look at mini-beasts in the garden and learn different prepositions.
Hudson and Me Bedtime: to relate to bedtime routines. To be used as a soothing pre-bedtime story.
